I know many teacher who are buy & promoting this product, commonly known as AirBorne, a vitamin enriched cough-drop, but its purpose is more or less to provide a mega dose of vitamins which boost immune system, not specifically used for sore throats. I'm sure you guys have bought some. Anyone notice their early cold fade, or are we talking about placebo here?

I left Korea with bronchitis and strep infection to fly back to the States over Memorial Day weekend this year. By the time I reached San Fransisco, I had a 103+ degree fever (despite multiple doses of aspirin/some Japanese cold medicine I'd picked up in Tokyo on the plane) and was so sick I almost didn't make it through customs. Seven hours of traveling later, I finally arrived at my sister's house in the U.P. It was Saturday night their time, with all doctors' offices closed until Tuesday morning. Not willing to go to the emergency room (no U.S. insurance ...), I took Airborne and collodial silver, then went to bed. By Sunday night, I able to talk a bit. Mid-day Monday, the fever broke, and by the time the doctor's offices opened on Tuesday, I was on the mend enough that I neither needed nor wanted their assistance.

I can't swear that Airborne did the trick, but I do know that this was the first time in years that I've gotten over a sinus infection without mega doses of antibiotics. I brought a hefty stockpile of the stuff back with me and have been using it at the first sign of a cold since then. Just ended the school year with zero sick days. :-)

I've used Airborne cough drops cause they're yummy, and non mentholated, but I don't know if they "worked" to prevent/help heal the cold. I've not taken the tablets you put in water. I have used Emergen-C when I felt I was getting a cold and it seemed to help, and its about the same thing. Zicam nasal gel DEFINITELY works to help stave off colds!! But you need to use it when you start getting sick and actually keep using it according to directions. its not a one time deal.

yes, this is what has been explained to me by other airborne users as well. generally i view the product as picking your immune system back up to where it should be, or above the average level of protection. i'm going to buy some more next week.
