:dizzy: I think I am going crazy. Every night, no matter how little sleep I got the night before or how early I woke up in the morning, I can't sleep. Yesterday I woke up at 8 am and had only gotten about 5 hours of sleep (the most I've gotten in one night in over a week). Anyway, I thought this was good because I figured I would be able to sleep at a decent time. Well, it was about 11 or 12 and I wasn't tired, so I was inspired to move furniture around in my room. Next thing I know it's two in the morning, I can't get to either my bed or my door. I finally get out of my room and think about just sleeping on the couch, but dad hates it when I do that because he's not a good sleeping person either and watches a lot of tv at night. So I go upstairs and make a spot on my floor to curl up. It then took me over another hour to get to sleep. Once I was asleep, I woke up every two hours. I finally just got up at 11. So I've still only had about 5 hours of sleep. I almost got up at 9. This is a nightly thing.

No matter how tired I am I can never fall asleep until at the very, very least 2 in the morning. Then I wake up every hour or so and am WIDE awake. Finally I get up at about 8. It's rare that I sleep until eleven like I did today. This is what inspired me to move around my furniture, I thought if I could block off my "sleeping area" using my dresser from my "craft/project/paperwork" area, I might sleep better. By the way, my guinea pig cage just doesn't fit in my room! Oy.

Does anybody have any sleeping suggestions? I don't know what to do anymore.

Considering all the stress in your life right now, I wouldn't be surprised you have sleep problems.

When I moved out of my parents I had so much more energy because I was no longer exposed to all the noise and constant conflict of living with them. (Not that they were bad people, it's just always stressful living with parents as an adult.)

I think everyone at one time or another has this problem. About a year ago, I would wake up constantly in the middle of the night, not being able to go back to sleep for and hour or 2 and so on. This went on for a few months. I think it was my inner demons.

If this goes on for a few weeks or more, see a doctor. There are ways to help sleep. Exercise in the morning, establish a regular bedtime routine and stick to it religiously, no caffine after 5pm, and learn some relaxation techniques (there are guided relaxation audio programs you can listen to online. I use them and they help.)

Stress is definitely my first guess. How are things going, BTW?
