SNL isn't very funny anymore, but this was brilliant! We were on the ground laughing!

The Alec Baldwin "brass balls" speech from Glengary Glen Ross transplanted to Santa's Worshop a few weeks ago was funny.

That was amusing! Something about white guys and rapping that just dont mix for me LOL!
Remember the SNL skit with the 2 chicks on valium doing a radio show and Alec Baldwin is a guest with his "Sveaty balls" ROFL

my husband and i just start cracking up whenever we think of this short. it was HILARIOUS. i can't tell you how funny i found the whole thing. oh my goodness.
i tried to explain it to my friend, and she just stared at me like i was nuts. i tried to tell her it was brilliant--with the humor of a beastie boys video. she doesn't care for the beastie boys.

What a gas! Finally something worthwhile from SNL. Will there be more?? I hope so with all the mileage they are getting on the internet due to "Lazy Sunday"

My wife and I laughed our asses off. If Lorne Michaels put more successful sketches on iTunes for free, it might get me more interested in watching SNL again.

What is this a parody of?
Nothing specifically, just rap videos in general, and how everything is "hardcore." The music was completely original, if that's what you mean. Some of the jokes are references to things, like the "it's all about the Hamiltons" line instead of the famous "all about the Benjamins."
It's also interesting that people who live in NY said that it's really a song about a typical day in NY--Magnolia's DOES have really good cupcakes, etc.
If you liked this video, you should really listen to the song The Heist (http://thelonelyisland.com/theheist.mp3)! It's by The Lonely Island, the same guys who did this video. Also hilarious.

Huh? I have no idea what was going on other than 2 young men walking somewhere in NYC, "rapping" and gesturing like rappers (they all gesture exactly the same -- you've seen and heard one, you've seen and heard them all) with cupcakes and going into a movie theatre and them saying "we love the chronic something-cles of Narnia" which I know is a reference to a new movie but nothing funny about that. So why is this supposed to be funny? I don't get it. Made no sense to me.

Made no sense to me.Something often shared by things that are considered humorous is an unusual contrast between elements that don't usually belong together. In this case, it was the aggressive/"hardcore" rapping, combined with cupcakes and a "family-friendly" movie.
But of course, it's usually a bad idea to try to "explain" why something is funny.

We no longer see agressive hardcore rapping as aggressive and hardcore. Now that it is 20 years old, every 6-year old white rural farm boy in the midwest, and lots of 6-years old girls, imitate it -- none of them look very threatening at this point in the game. Everybody views it as pure posturing, silly play-acting. No-one finds it seriously threatening. If Lawrence Welk were still alive, he would be doing it.
I didn't see any unusual contrast between any elements that don't usually go together. Still don't.
