Anybody do anything for earthday?

The place I live always has an earth day celebration the Sat before the 22nd.

So I went to the celebration today. It was so much fun. They always have it in this park and they have bands play all day long and they have proffesers from the environmental studies program and other departments from UCSB give speeches and stuff.

The weather was beautiful and we had alot of fun as usual. :)

I'm involved with the animal rights group at Illinois State. We will be serving free veggie burgers at their Earth Day festivities. Last year it was the ag club. :stinkeye:

Nashville also had its EarthDay celebration today, Saturday.

I was at the booth for B.U.R.N.T., a local recycling advocacy group.

It was a nice, sunny day.

I talked with a number of people, but it was a bit hard to gauge how many were really seriously interested in helping the group or in recycling.

We don't have ANY EarthDay activities in our high school, and when we bring it up we get the 'well if we take time off for every little holiday..."
So I intend to go to school and listen to my friends talk about how its EarthDay and after school they're going to go burn tires.
Yes, yes, I know.....then maybe I'll go plant some flowers, go for a hike, something to enjoy the earth.

The Hawaiian Vegetarian Society is gonna set up a big team and pass out flyers, stickers etc. in our university campus :) I am going to help out:D .

You don't have to take time away from classes to promote earth day activities. Poster the hallways (get permission). Set up recycling bins. Table during lunch or after school.

All I did was clean up the street in the front of our house with my roomate. It was disgusting because all the trash from the main street blew down our street from wind and from weekly street cleaning of the main street- there was at least 5 inches thick of dirt, leaves, & trash in the gutter that stretched the distance in front of our house...

At my school the Enivro club is going to elementary schools to give presentations.
