I'm getting a little tired of the music I've been working out too (and my ipod broke:mad:. So I need some ideas. I generally listen to music with a good fast beat, and that can include anything from Britany Spears to Nirvana (I have a broad taste in music.)

Just joking...I'm not that young, however, they are more of my boyfriend's generation than mine haha.

recently, i've been listening to a lot of Bhagavan Das--it's kirtan music, hindu music. but he's a westerner, so he mixes it with african american spirituals and all kinds of drum beats and such. it's really great music. Yesterday, they played it for the whole rock gym to hear. it was fun.
usually, i don't listen to music when i 'work out.' but, i like to listen to krishna das and bhagavan das right now--as well as some spanish/latin music.

Metal, usually Disturbed, or dance/trance. Anything that makes me feel happy and good about myself!

Joe Satriani. Smash Mouth. Green Day. Nirvana. Saliva.
And also fun 80s music, like Duran Duran, the B-52's, etc.

That sounds interesting, I'll have to check them out. Sometimes I listen to Vas. They have discribed themselves as "alternative world music." they are my favorite. you can listen to sound clips at www.vasmusic.com (i think.).

I really enjoy artists who blend east and west. It helps make eastern music more accessible to those used to western modes and rythms. I'll have to see if I can check this out.

Doesn't matter, so long as it's hard, and fast. Metal, hard rock, industrial, electronica, etc.

I usually work out to psy, except if I'm doing a bit of yoga, then I put on something a bit more mellow.

Most of my "workouts" are actually long walks or hikes. I use Glass Hammer: Live from Middle-earth. These are songs inspired by JRR Tolkien's works, but they have a folk-music sound to them, and work really well as marching songs.

I like to listen to all kinds of stuff, including some stuff that was already mentioned (Green Day, Duran Duran). For weights and stuff, I like Hatebreed and Trivium and Shadows Fall.. or something equally as hard and heavy.
For cardio I like lighter, faster songs (Offspring comes to mind). My favorite is Tilt because they can be so angry and raw, even brutal at times, but still very upbeat.. keeps me going.
OH! How could I forget They Might Be Giants!! Shame on me. They are great for boring workouts because they keep me entertained. Now if you'll excuse me, I'm off to build a little birdhouse in my soul.
