I have pretty much stopped using all my makeup because it's got something in it that isn't vegan, but I would still like to buy something inexpensive from Walmart or any Eckerd. Does anyone know of any vegan cosmetics I could find cheap at a drugstore?
I know there's a ton of thread about this, but i thought I'd ask about this again.

I'm not sure - I don't shop at those stores you mentioned. But most vegan cosmetics are expensive because they have the "good stuff" in them. Cheaper cosmetics use petroleum based ingredients along with lots of inexpensive animal by-products.
Burt's Bees are affordable but contain beeswax and I have seen them at Walgreens. Aveda is a nice brand but can be expensive and some products have beeswax in them too. My personal conviction is to wear the natural products with beeswax then the items with petroleum based ingredients.
If you don't wear make up that often, invest in the nicer stuff a bit at a time. I usually wear mascara and lipgloss so I spend my money on that and then get eyeshadow or something else that I wear infrequently.

well, not a drug store, but you can go to http://www.eyeslipsface.com Everything on there is $1.00 and the shipping is not expensive, either. They're all natural and they do give to charities; no animal testing, either.

Do you know if they're free from animal ingredients?
I'm also mainly looking for things for eyes, dark eyeliners, things like that.

I second the elf cosmetics line. Not sure if they are vegan or not (individual products might be), I'm sure they could tell you if you emailed them.
They say "natural" ingredients, but that doesn't mean much.
They are not animal tested though.

Not a bad product for the price, good variety and quick delivery.

I think I remember a couple of the products having beeswax in them, but the rest of the items were fine. If there is a particular item you are interested in, you could email them and ask for a list of ingredients.

At Walmart, (or the one I have in my area, which is not a HUGE walmart) they sell Physican's Formula, which claims they don't have any animal ingredients (I checked on the PETA list, and they DON'T test on animals). However, right after calling them on this, I bought some eyeliner that "may contain" carmine. So, depending on what colors you get (the ones with a red tint are probably not vegan) you can have vegan make-up! Their eyeliner ( I use the no-sharpen stick in black)doesn't contain any animal ingredients, and works nicely. A stick runs for about $6, which isn't too bad. Their blushes and bronzers are a bit more expensive though, (about $10) although I've heard they're worth the money. I would suggest Revlon, but although they don't test on animals, many of their products contain animal ingredients. Also, try going to local and even small beauty supply stores. I was very surprised to find vegan foundation for only $10 in one of them, and the brand to me was completely new!

that sounds good to me, I'll check for that the next time I'm at Walmart. Thanks!

Goodgoth.com has what I think is vegan makeup... I don't know if any of it would appeal to most people, but it's worth looking at...

I was wondering about the elf makeup brushes, but I found out they were horsehair, which is def. not synthetic. :(

I know this sounds kind of weird but if you go to a craft store like Michaels, you can buy a whole set of synthetic brushes that are usually used for painting, but are just like make-up brushes. Someone here on veggieboards mentioned it once, and it sounds like a good idea, since all of them are marked 'synthetic' or 'horse hair', etc.

Not to rain on anybody's parade, but I did a quick look at their website and
found this ingredient in one of their products-
Gentle Refreshing Toner For dry to very dry skin.
WATER,GLYCERIN,CUCUMBER EXCTRACT,GINSENG EXTRACT,HYDROLYZED ANIMAL PROTEIN & HYALURONIC ACID,HYDROXYPROPYL METHYLCELLULOSE,OAK EXTRACT,SODIUM BORATE,DIAZOLIDINYL UREA,METHYLPARABEN,FD&C RED N 4,FD&C BLUE N 1,MAY ALSO CONTAIN CITRIC ACID.
Maybe the company didn't realize that animal protien comes from an animal?

Why not just buy a quality brand that discloses all ingredients/testing info clearly on package? -ie. Logona, Aveda, Aubrey Organics, DR Haushka, Jurlique, Jane Iredale.
A few products by these companies aren't vegan, but most are, & they don't test, & you aren't poisoning yourself dermally.
It's criminal that beauty product ingredients are kept such a secret.
