Hey guys

I slept on a crummy cabin bed one night last week and helped carry several heavy pieces of wood inside and ever since then my upper back left side (the area around my shoulder blade) is really sore.

It really feels like it needs to be adjusted, which is why I don't think its just a sore muscle, but I can't make it to my chiropractor due to his location and my lack of transportation and also due to my stubbornness

I started appling ice packs today and will try the heating pad later, I am also planning to take a bath with epsom salts.

I was curious what are some of the remedies you use to relieve back pain??

Thanx :)

I was going to suggest going to a chiropractor when I first saw the title, but if you can't make it to one, I would say what you are doing (or will be doing) to alleviate the pain is a good start.

I had lower back pain once (it just appeared one day; I never figured out what I had done to cause it, other than being somewhat overweight) and went to a chiropractor. It helped considerably, but he also taught me some yoga stretching techniques specifically for lower back. I don't know what techniques would be best for your upper back soreness, but if you know any you might try them. Or look them up online.

Hope that helps :)

hey thanks guys!

I will try doing some sort of stretching today probably after the epsom salt bath, I would think It would prepare the muscle for the streching maybe?

I remember going to see my family doctor for back pain when I was a preteen and he said to stay in bed and get plenty of rest! hehe

I think that would be the worst thing for it, to just lay there, ya know?

Thanks again :)

I was thinking about starting a thread very similar to this one, but I changed my mind. I'm glad to see this one is here!

I don't have a solution, though.

I think I pulled or strained a muscle near my left shoulder blade in my sleep 2-3 weeks ago, and it won't get better! I figured part of the problem might be that I always carried my heavy bookbag on my left shoulder, but for the past 2-3 weeks, I've been doing well to share the burden with my right shoulder. I plan to flip my mattress tonight. It seems like I re-injure myself in my sleep every few days, and it's making me frustrated and irritable.
