gardenburger riblets are freakin good. I took a bite and had to go check the box to make sure they were really meat free because they have a very meaty texture..

*eats whole box*

The barbecue sauce on it is pretty yummy too :)

I don't know how good these things are for you, but I can't see any harm in them if they are eaten as an occasional treat :)

I hear you! I'm burnt out on them at the moment because I went nuts with them with I first discovered them about a year ago. They're really good with some dill pickle slivers and sauteed onions with vegenaise on a roll.

I really like the texture, but I hate bbq sauce. Oh well...

I just had one for dinner! ;) I do think the sauce is a little too much, so I only eat some of it.

I can't eat more than one at a time, though. The sauce has a strong flavor.

They have them at my local Whole Foods, so you should be able to find them at yours. :lick:

I don't know if they're vegan but you can get them here in Houston at Kroger's, too. I don't know if HEB has them or not, probably not at the "Pantry" versions but the larger HEB's should have them. That and Central Market :)

I'll have to try them on a roll. With chopped onions :)

they're pretty good, but i stopped eating them because they always made me throw up a little. no other food has consistently had that effect on me. it was really strange.

YES, they are vegan. YES, they are healthy. YES, they taste great. And Gardenburger is a great company that has been forced into bankruptcy by competition from the likes of Boca (which is owned by Altria/Philip Morris/Kraft) and Morningstar (which is Kellogg). You can get the Riblets at Traders Joes for only $2.69 per box. I haven't seen them cheaper than that.

wow, I usually have to spend over $5 for them here... sometimes I'll find them on sale for about $4, but that's rare...

I don't know Virginia geography: Are these stores too far away for you?

Maybe it's just my area of California, but you can buy Gardenburger Riblets in most any supermarket. They're in the frozen foods section, near the Boca burgers and other veg*n foods. Check your local grocery stores.

I think I can get the riblets at a HFS or my usual grocery store, but I just read so much on this board about Whole Foods - and I've never been in one! The nearest one that I know of is in Charlottesville, an hour + away. But my son is in school there, so I may just need to visit and do some grocery shopping at the same time.

Eh... Poppy - Whole Foods is great, expecially for specific hard-to-find vegan/vegetarian items - but in my experience they're over-rated and expensivio. Sort of the Holy Grail of vegan shopping.
Really, everything you need can be found at most "average" supermarkets. I have Fred Meyer (like Kroger), Albertsons and Safeway in my little town (NO Health Food Stores, Wild Oats or Whole Foods) and except for vegan whole grain bread, I can basically find most everything that is mentioned on the boards...

I'll keep it on my list, but asterisk it as a "luxury"item.

After reading all the rave reviews, I tried them last night for dinner. Tasted great. I made it into a little sandwich with this yummy, healthy bread I have. Unfortunately, they didn't agree with me either. I didn't throw up, but I was definitely in the bathroom with stomach rumblings and feeling miserable...and I'll just leave it at that. :(
