Hey guys, I have been thinking about posting this for a YEAR now, and I'm finally remembering to do it!
I have numerous pairs of man-made boots - you know - the pointy toe, high skinny heel type & one pair with a kitten heel. I love them so much. And I have the urge to buy more of them, BUT I'm going to resist the urge and have my old ones repaired instead (i hope).
But I've never visited a shoe repair shop before, and I don't know what kind of services they offer. Will the cost of the repair be more than the cost of a new pair (hoping not!). I'm assuming they'd happily repair a non-leather shoe?!
What I need most is to have the heels fixed. The heels have worn down to the nail on all 3 pairs, making them really dangerous to walk in.
Anyway, if anyone has any experience with this, I'd love to hear about it.

I've had many pairs of boots re-soled or re-heeled. It never cost more than $15 per pair. I don't know what you'll run into... in my town we have a kind of old-fashioned, family-run shoe repair business that has been around for decades. But it should be a lot cheaper than new shoes. At any rate you can get a price quote and decide if it's worth it. :)
