This may be an entirely inappropriate question, but I'm going to toss it out there. I am often asked questions about the vegan lifestyle and am often required to defend my choices. One question I have recently been asked is something of a sexual matter. Since as vegans we do not consume of any animal or animal bi-product, is it acceptable for a vegan to consume of human bi-product during oral sex? Sorry if this offends anyone, I was just very thrown off by this question and thought I would open it up to my vegan cohorts. Thanks all!

I'll concur with RawVeganMom and others on this one.

This questions is asked by trolls all the time. I do hope you're not a troll.

There is nothing unveg*n about oral sex, nor is there about breastfeeding. If you do a search, i'm sure you can find a whole lot of other threads that say the same thing.

I assure you I am not a troll, just a curious vegan that wanted to understand. I believe in the argument that breastfeeding is acceptable because of its ability to sustain life from mother to child. I was just wanting some opinions from people not just websites...I wasn't sure how many people asked others this question. I can't believe people are so uncouth as to ask questions like this of total strangers, although I suppose I have just done the same. I apologize profusely...

I think the vegan reason for abstaining from consuming animal products is to not contribute to cruelty. I hardly think it's cruel to engage in consentual oral sex. :)

If you are just arbitrarily avoiding every animal product out there, then I suppose that would be out.

But if you think about YOUR reasons for avoiding animal products, then the answer will become apparent.

Does it adhere to the dietary rules of veganism? Technically not. Does it adhere to the spirit of veganism? Absolutely! People become vegan to help animals. You're certainly not hurting any by giving oral sex. I'd imagine you'd even be making one animal particularly pleased.

If anyone out there does avoid oral sex ostensibly because semen isn't vegan, I would say they're lying through their teeth. They just don't like to do it.

When I saw the title to this thread, I thought maybe veggie foods that you bring in the bedroom. My husband knows that I love peanut butter, but I do not think it would taste that good, unless mixed with jelly.

i'd propose the logic that the 'by-products' you ask about would be 'vegan' if they originated from a vegan partner only
:)

and not that of the transformed blood of a non-vegan/meat-eater.

It depends upon how much. Consumce a couple of teaspoons of semen 2 or 3 times a week -- the amount seems inconsequential. You might still call yourself a vegan. But if you depended upon semen for your calories, carbohydrates, and protein, instead of other sources of these nutrients, actually reduced your intake of other foods because of all the semen you were consuming, say you were you sucking off 10 men a day, 5 days a week, or 30 men per day -- that sounds like it wouldn't be compatible with being a vegan.

I believe that an important part of veganism is the vegan esthetic. Killing and eating animals is an ugly business. So it isn't vegan. Husbanding sheep or cattle for their milk, is an ugly business. So it isn't vegan. Sucking off 10 men a day would seem like an ugly bit business.

No offense Veggimeatpacked but I find the question somewhat absurd. Thought the dialogue has been very entertaining.

Absolute bollocks, swallowing a good old bit of spunk is not harming an animal. Quite the opposite.

Which ends up logically leading us to ask ourselves daily:: Have I exceeded my maximum sperm intake ratio to be considered an ethical vegan today?

Is weight a factor in this. The heavier the person the more they can consume and still be vegan?

I wouldn't be a vegan if that was the case!:hump: LOL
