'm just wonderin' if this is normal:

i eat alot during weekends and gain about 2 pounds, and then they disappear during weekdays, and come back again on weekends.

it's like a whole year's weight cycle of a hybernating bear

is this normal?

I'm sure that this is mostly due to eating a lot on the weekends and being bloated and really full, not actually gaining 2 lbs. A pound of fat equals about 3500 calories- so you'd have to be burning off 7000 calories during the week and then eating an extra 7000 during the weekend, which seems unlikely.

The temporary weight gain is most likely due to the weight of the extra food in your system. Once its digested and pooped out, you go back to your regular weight.

as per above
if you are eating things during the weekends that you aren't eating during the week, your system probably isn't used to handling them so well..

Like the others said, it could be due to water retention, extra food, etc. It would be very hard to gain 2 pounds in 1 weekend and then lose it. Almost impossible really...

"I thought what I'd would do is I'd pretend I was one of those deaf-mutes."

Cheers.

That happens to me sometimes too. It's just water weight and extra food- It always goes away.

The science nerd in me is coming out (who am I kidding? It's out all of the time!)...

When you eat more calories than you need, your body first turns it into glycogen, which is essentially a bunch of sugar molecules hooked together. Glucose is really water soluble, and so it carries a lot of water with it when it is stored in the body. So if you eat a lot at once, you have not only the extra food in there, but you also retain more water. This is why when people go on diets and deplete their glycogen stores, they lose a lot of weight quickly... the majority of it is that water loss that was hydrating the glycogen.

Well ... you are talking to a woman who will eat a dozen cookies in one sitting. Perhaps, my sweet tooth is a bit de-sensitized. ;)

Is it possibly your weighing yourself different on weekends and weekdays?

I can vary 2kg (4-5 pounds) in a day.
In the mornings, after I've been to the bathroom, before I've eaten or drunk and when I'm only wearing underwear I weigh a lot different to after dinner, when I'm clothed and had a whole days worth of eating and drinking.
