I'm pretty sure spandex is vegan, but don't take MY word for it. :dizzy:

It may be vegan, but it's definitely in poor taste!

I have clothing that contains a certain amount of spandex for stretchiness. I like stretch tees because I can move better in 'em.

You guys act like people are wearing spandex out to bars and clubs. I've only seen it worn when people work out. I like to wear it when I work out because it eliminates friction between my legs when I run.

I never heard about it now being vegan. So I don't know and would like to know the answer.

According to wikipedia spandex is a synthetic fiber.

Some people do wear them out to bars and clubs!!

I seriously thought this was a joke thread in all honestly. I really thought everyone knew it was synthetic.

I'm willing to bet the OP really wasn't sure. You just can't be too careful about anything. I've been buying Trader Joe's stone wheat crackers (low sodium) for several years now, but I never thought to look closely at the ingredients. Only now, that I'm trying to maintain a vegan diet/lifestyle, that I noticed on the box that I bought two weeks ago that the crackers contain dairy! (whey protein). I said WTF? Dairy in wheat crackers??? :stinkeye:

Now I have to find another brand of wheat crackers that are actually vegan.

Spandex is only vegan when worn in a swimming pool.

For some reason I was thinking Spandex was made from silk and nylon. Yesterday I passed on a pair of socks because they had a small amount of spandex thinking they were not vegan but will go pick them up now.

I'm slowly converting from being a vegetarian to vegan and appreciate the help. Bjorn's response was funny even though it took me a while to get it--but it made me laugh all day thinking about it after that.
