Whenever I go running, about 25 minutes into it I get kind of a sugary/sweet taste in the back of my throat. What is this, and why does this happen?

Ah! I get that too and hate it. I usually just make sure no one is around and spit on the ground. Other than that, I don't really know how to help. lol

I noticed that when I was fasting the other day too. I have read that during fasting your body excretes crud that's been building up inside it, and your tongue is one of the places it shows up first, followed by the skin and the urine.

...Don't know about any sweet taste. I usually taste copper pennies if I run hard enough on a cold day. Just hock a lugee. (Unless you're on a treadmill.)
There's a phenominon in long distance running that occurs when you've depleted all your stored glucose. (At around 17-19 miles.) The body can burn only fat, and it uses some funky chemistry to do it. It is not uncommon to get a false smell of Amonia. ...I could have sworn there was a chemical spill, and I was in the middle of a grassy field.
