I'm having the hardest time with cheese. It's just to good. This is the only dairy that I take in. I'm getting better because I am making a huge effort but I get the worst cravings for cheese dip. My mom makes it all the time, and we spend a lot of time together. Has anyone found any good substitutions for cheese dip?

tofutti makes vegan cream cheese and vegan sour cream. you could try a recipe using those. i've never tried the cream cheese, but the sour cream is yummy...

Try Joanne Stepaniak's "Crock Cheeze" recipe. It rocks!
It's in the Uncheese Cookbook, The Nutritional Yeast Cookbook, and Vegan Vittles, I think, and I'm sure it's posted on the internet someplace if you do a search. :)

Almost every meal I used to eat had cheese in it. A few years ago I thought I'd want my future wedding dinner to be comprised of double cheese pizza, fettuccine alfredo, and chocolate milk.
I haven't had cheese in a year now, and milk in a year and a half.
What I did to break the addiction was to find other things to make and eat that had nothing to do with cheese. It was hard work, but it worked. I no longer want cheese, even though I used to eat it every single day.
As for cheese dip, I have no idea what that is. Can't you take the recipe you have, and if it uses sour cream, making vegan sour cream, and if it involves cheese, use vegan cheese like Vegan Gourmet or tofutti in it instead? Or, make uncheese recipes, or use a tofu sour cream recipe to avoid the hydrogenated oils that are in tofutti products?
It's hard to advise when I have no idea what would normally go in cheese dip, or any idea what kind of availability of vegan products you have where you live.

fake cream cheese is good, but other cheese substitutes are disappointing when compared the vegan substitutes for other things.

I was wondering if I was the only one who read the title that way!
