I love it! Thanks for the link, rvijay. Now I know how to greet the Dalai Lama, should the occasion ever present itself to me. :)

There used to be a somewhat similar site called Learn2, i.e., learn to sew on a button or whatever. They also published a book, but then went commercial.

I guess I am a little skeptical of how this thing is put together, since they have a "wiki" format but do not really source their contributors.

So, am I really learning how to do something from someone who really knows how to do it? Or am I just getting the opinions of people who are very opinionated and think they know what they are doing?

One way to check might be to look up some things you know how to do, and see if the instructions are accurate. If you can do this on several topics, it might give you an idea of the overall accuracy of the site.

For most things, there's more than one way to accomplish the task. I'd probably use ehow.com as a bare-bones guide for really basic procedures, and a jumping-off point for researching other subjects.

We all know that information on the Internet may not be complete or accurate, so that's why we take it with a grain of salt, and verify when possible/necessary. :)

I miss learn2.com. I got the best directions for knitting off of learn2 and refer to them to this day. I do like this site as well.
