Misty - cat named by me because I like the name and she was more gray than black as a kitten. Now she's much more black than gray.

Sabrina - cat named by me because I like the name and I had recently seen the movie (the original version). I liked the scene where Audrey Hepburn comes back from Paris changed into a beautiful, confident young woman, and William Holden doesn't even recognize her at first. :D

I named all my cats. Zephyr and Zorro are half-brothers and got matching names. Zephyr got his because he's as quick and playful as the west wind, and Zorro has a dark mask across his eyes just like the Gay Blade. (His personality isn't very daring, though-- he's a mama's boy, and very timid, so he earned the secondary name of Sweetie.)

Pickle earned his name when he came to live with us by constantly getting stuck in trees, on the roof of the apartment building, and on the neighbors' upstairs balconies and yelling for help. I would put my hands on my hips, look up at him, and say, "Well, you've gotten yourself in quite a pickle now, haven't you?" And the name stuck.

3 cats: Milo, Zelda and Nigel, all named by me. We rarely call Zelda by her name though. Mostly we call her "the baby" because we raised her since she was 2 days old and got used to calling her that. Plus she's still pretty small.

1 snake: Adam, named by me

My cat is named Cory. She came with the name and I like that it's gender neutral. That's her with me in my avatar :o

Orie - her name was Oreo when I got her, but I didn't want a cat named after a nasty cookie, but I didn't feel right just changing it either. So I shortened.

Milo the cat- name by me because I liked the name. :)
Jen the cat- named after a road race (Jennifer's Run) I ran and won the day we found her.
Clarise the cat- had the name when I adopted her, I think she was named after a Disney character..
Curly the fish- from a trio (Moe and Larry died :( )
Phineas the cat- named after the street I live on
Freckles the cat- has a black face with white "feckles" (patches) on it
Patch the cat- is white with black patches on her fur
Calico the cat- is a calico :p
Ronty the cat- looked like another cat named Runty that we had, so was called 'Ronty' to avoid confusion. :)

The last five cats are all part of the feral colony we take care of..my mom named most of them. :p

I LOVED the Doors when I was a teenie bopper. I used to fantasize that Jim Morrison was my birthfather (on account I was adopted) LOL

Dog:
Deif - Loved due south at the time (lives with my dad)
Guinea pigs:
Chiku - Means chatterer in an african language (forget which one)
Twili - My (ex) bf made it up!
Cats:
Kitty - Pure laziness (lives with me)
Oni (Uni?) - (ex) bf named him. It means something like demon in Japanese. (lives with my dad too)
Hamster:
Boris - I adopted him from a freind. I dont know why hes named that, but apparently hes from soviet russia, as the legend goes, and the US is still after him.
Gold fish:
Bootsie (black moore)- Seemed like a weird thing to call a fish
Sting (fantail) - He was gonna be killed because his spines messed up (hes healthy, it just looks weird) and his tip fine is just a long needle like point.
Rooster (Lionhead) - He has a big red mass on his head, thats how he got the name, although his nick is school bus (which he resembles!)
Pyro (Comet) - Very pretty. He was insane when i got him. like, wild. I hate buying fish, but these idiots were gonna buy him, so i got him first. They were gonna feed him to something i think.
Tropical fish:
Eely (Golden Dojo Loach) - Looks like an eel. Hes one cool guy, attacks me if my hand goes near him when im cleaning something.
Stanley (corydora) - Just thought it was silly
Captain Stripey (striped tiger barb) - He has stripes, hes a captain...
Patches (green tiger bard) - he has patches, and it tends to be a dogs name.
Chuckles (pink tetra) - hes pink and cute
Beaky (blue tetra) - They look like little birds to me!
Stardust (angel fish) - My bf was trying to think of ultra girly names
moonshine (angel fish) - This is supposed to also be ultra girly, but makes me sound like an alcoholic. He was also "deformed" and was marked for death. He looks like all his fins were pulled onto his bckside, and one side has a big lump. but hes a sweetheart and dosent tolerate being picked on!

Yea, sometimes its hard tho. Especially when you have a school of fish that all look the same! I had 4 cherry barbs didnt bother to name cuz i couldnt tell which was which anyways!
