I have an Earth Fare ( Health food store only seen in South Eastern US states) about an hour from me In Athens, GA. I was wondering if anyone had been to one before & could offer opinions and/or experiences on it? I haven't been to it yet, but am interested. Any replies appreciated!

The charlotte earth fare is nice but if you have another smaller health food store near you then I wouldn't bother with the drive. Ours is like a health food store with enough stuff that you can do all your shopping there w/o a regular grocery store.

We are going to Piegon Forge, TN for Thanksgving and was hoping that the Earth Fare in Knoxville will have all the stuff we need to eat some good food while on our family cabin get away...
I have never been to one so I am super curious. (how weird am I got get all excited to go to a grocery store in another state?)

I used to shop at the one in Greenville, S.C. There was another natural foods store about a 10-minute drive away which I liked a little better, but since Earth Fare was on the same route, I'd usually stop there too. Earth Fare's overall prices seemed a bit on the high side, but they ran good sales. Their organic produce selection was nice. Also, they had a restaurant that was out of this world. I'd usually time my grocery shopping so that I could eat lunch or dinner there, plus I'd get take-out to take to work the next day. (When you live in the south -- land of fatback-seasoned everything -- being able to eat someone else's cooking is a rare treat!)
All in all, I found shopping at the pair of stores to be worth the time it took to drive a half hour each way.

Thanks for the replies! I understand what you mean MorningCalm about southern cooking! Eww fatback!
Theres quite a few health food stores here in Atlanta. Some small, some big like Whole foods or Harrys Farmers Market(owned by WF) . I've only been to Harrys because its the only big one on my side of Atlanta. Most are not near me:no: . I do like Harrys though!(basically same as WF since they are owned by them) Whole foods bought a small chain of Harrys several years ago, so they sell the same things now basically, like the 365 brand.
I was curious about Earth Fare because I had never been to one. I've checked out their website & sale ads. I always love new health food stores. The city where Earth Fare is has a few health food stores as well as vegetarian restaurants, so one day I can go and check out most at one time. It's really not too far to go for that. It just won't be real soon though.
I just wish I had a Wild Oats. That seems like a great health food store. There's not even one in the entire state! Whole foods has taken over Atlanta, so I guess thats why they aren't here.
Anyway, thanks again for the replies!
