Hi, just wondering if anyone has adopted a cat from petsmart and how much (roundabout) it cost?

The PetSmart here just has animals from the local shelter so you'd probably need to check with them. As far as I know PetSmart does not sell cats and dogs directly.

Sorry I forgot to mention that the adoption center is IN petsmart.

The Petsmart near me lets recue groups come in each weekend and hold adoptions. The cost of adoption depends on the rescue group. The group I work with charges $100. I think that's a fairly typical amount. That cost goes to cover all shots, spay/neuter, food, toys, shelter and any other vet visits while the animal has been in a foster home.
In fact, I'm about to head out there this morning. We're at Petsmart every 1st, 3rd and 5th Saturday. :)

And yes, we're actually inside the Petsmart. Just go talk to one of the volunteers if you find an animal you're interested in adopting. :)

I saw a cat that I loved in PetSmart the other day. It was 10 weeks old and was up to date on shots. The adoption fee was 95 dollars. I didn't look at any of the other older cat's fees because I was too busy trying to entertain the kitten! I wish my place let me have cats.

Right, but you're not adopting the animal FROM PetSmart. You'll need to check with the group that does the adoptions. If you're not sure what group that would be I'd check with PetSmart, they should be able to tell you, they might even know the cost.

You might want to check your local vet offices. I took my dog in for a check up and my vet asked me if I wanted a cat she found in her neigborhood about 5 weeks prior. He is a beautiful long hair white cat called Mr. Handsome with a lovely calm and affectionate disposition. My vet gave him to me free of charge. Mr. Handsome was already altered and the vet updated his shots right then and there at no charge. I was suprised.
I adopted my dog from an organization that worked out of Petsmart and she cost 260.00. They told me she is part Boston Terrier but everyone only sees pug in her. I don't think they really knew and because they thought she was Boston Terrier mix they priced her higher than the other dogs. I thought that was shady. I wasn't adopting her for her breed I just knew she was the one for me and I her.
Anyways, animals get dropped off randomly at vet offices so you might want to check them out.

Most legitimate rescue groups charge a set amount regardless of breed. I mean, it doesn't cost any more to have a terrier neutered than it does a mutt.

Exactly!
And adoption fees for cats are usually $80-$120.

I have not adopted, but I think the fee here runs around $70 (the adoptions are technically through our local humane society.)

Petsmart doesn't set a price (and they don't get any of the money). The organizations holding the adoptions set their own prices. My shelter charges $80 for cats. (We do hold adoptions at PetSmart too btw).
