View Full Version : Returning kittens to their mother

For anyone who doesn't read my journal, here's the lowdown :
In the last 2 days :

I heard a noise, investigated and found a kitten in the roof of my house. No others. Very hungry.
Seems to be 3-4 weeks old - have been feeding him with formula I got from the vet.
The next day I found the mother in the backyard with another 2 kittens. I'm figuring she moved them from the nest in the roof and for some reason mine got left behind.

I'm wondering what I should do. Does anyone think it would be a good idea to try to give the kitten back to it's mother? Should I just raise it myself? (Very doable - I have 4 more days of school and then I am free).
How do I get the mother to trust me so that at some point I can catch them all and take them to be spayed/sterilised and vaccinated?

I'm leaving them outside at this point (except for the one I'm feeding) because the mother is pretty anti-people at the moment, plus we have a dog and my cat JC inside.

Don't worry - I'll post pictures. He's the cutest little thing ever. So small though...
