i am not a raw foods person but i LOVE :hamster: Lara bars and totally appreciate how simple they are. does anyone have advise on how to make something that great? i know it may seem and probably is simple...
Larabars are delicious. And they do seem simple to make. I have made some that were good but not as good. I'll see if I can remember how to make them. Let me get back to you...
Ok, I'm back.
First of all you have to soak some dates overnight (if you have really dry dates; some dates are more moist and don't need to be soaked.).
You also need to soak your almonds and/or sunflower seeds (or whatever you are using) overnight.
Drain off your soaked ingredients.
Blend the nuts/seeds in a blender.
Mix nut/seeds with dates and whatever chopped fruit you are using. Bananas are sweet so if you are using apples or plums or something you may need more dates if you want your bar to be sweet. You can also add in cocoa. (For raw fooders: make sure your cocoa is raw).
Have some dry blended sunflower seeds ready if your mixture is too wet. I have a Vitamix blender which can blend dry nuts/seeds. Check your blender instructions to see if your blender can do that.
Form mixture into desired shapes.
Dehydrate until they are ready. (About a day).
Sorry I can't provide measured amounts of ingredients. I just wing it. :)
