Call me crazy, but I have this idea!
I buy mineral makeup, it's a powdered makeup made entirely of minerals (no synthetic chemicals). Each lip balm size tub costs me $10 Australian (thats approx $7.50 US) and a little goes a very long way.
The trouble is, the mineral lipstick is not vegan and I'm wanting to make a simple , natural lipstick/coloured lip balm that is relatively cheap.
I can make the lip balm from scratch (macadamia wax, shea butter etc. lots cheaper than buying the ready made stuff), and adding a little of the mineral makeup colours the tub colours the balm, but the colours tend to go browny and bland, as opposed to the vibrant colours of the powders when applied dry to the skin.
They also don't seem to show up well when applied to the lips in the lip balm.
Has anyone tried anything like this? Does anyone have any ideas?
I'd eventually love to make a natural, totally vegan range of cosmetics, but the lipsticks are the stickler!
:wall:
Cheers!
