Where do you buy yours?
I am the happiest lady ever today. I discovered that BHS (a department store in the UK) does bras specifically for larger than average, but not very large boobs! (D to F I think).
Finally!! For years I was too small for those designed for very large breasts, but the normal bras above cup C gave little support etc.

I was so inspired I bought naught underwear too!!! hehehe:vebo:

Has anyone else had the probs I did? Plus, has anyone else found the cost of decent underwear (specifically bras) to be prohibitive?

Well I have a hard time finding bras in my size. (34D) I bought some "fancy" bras my boyfriend picked out and while they look nice, they aren't made for support at all and they are the smallest D cups I've ever seen. I broke one of them. Now, I pretty much only wear plain white bras because they are the most supportive and confortable of all the bras I've seen. I'm just going to have to accept they don't make functional and sexy bras in my size that won't break my poor wallet.

I'm guessing a UK D and a US/Canadian is different then?..
Here it isn't hard to find D cups and up, but normally the straps are exactly the same size as the A cups so they're really uncomfortable.
The other prob, as you mentioned, is that while something may be labelled as your size, you couldn't find a clementine in it, let alone a whole breast!

I was so sad I broke that one bra before my b/f even got to see it. And I found a conversion chart for sizes in other contries. The US and UK have the same sizes. http://www.breasttalk.co.uk/size_charts.asp

The problem is there is hardly anything above a C, and when there is they are all like 40D, not 34D. I see 36Ds a lot more often but those are just too big for me. I'm skinny and I have big boobs, ok? I exist!

i buy my lingerie at frederick's of hollywood and victoria's secret. i have LOTS OF PROBLEMS finding small enough bras taht are sexy, everybody seems to assume that if you wear a 32A you don't want sexy, you want t-shirt/training bra, or you don't want to wear a bra at all. quite frequently i end up buying satin camis to be sexy, and plain camis for other things over bras, and going bra-less when my camis are showing under clingy tops

Come to the UK! You wouldn't have a problem here!
Actually, the best ever range I found was in Belgium - every size covered in a variety of styles. Plus, if it said cup X and you were cup X, it would always fit.
I think the bra companies are guilty of favouring particular boob sizes grrrr

do they have almost-a (yes, the a-cup is a tad too big)?...

I am also a 34D, and a large 34D, but not quite as big as a DD... so I have a hard time finding big enough D-cups as well- They are a tad expensive, but the Ipex demi at Victoria's is really sleek and well made with excellent support and coverage. Highly recommended...

Really? When I'm shopping for bras, I seem to find a million bras in my size (36DD or 38D) with super wide heavy duty cushiony straps which will not work with anything in my wardrobe except a turtleneck sweater. I like the back to be wider, but not the part that goes over my shoulders.

At Marks & Spencer I am a 32E and all I can get are plain white or black t-shirt bras with huge straps. I walked into La Senza the other day, though, and they have bras of all types in all sizes. I tried one on, though, and I am definately not a 32E there! I haven't had time to find one that fits, but I'm thinking the sizes differ so much I'll be a 34DD or a 34E. Why can't people just mean the sizes they say?

I hadn't worn a bra in probably a year... but my boobs recently grew, so now I need some support. I ordered the Very Sexy bras from Victoria's Secret - I'm a larger 32B - some 32Bs are way too small on me.

Oh, am I jealous! I'm a 34A and can never find anything vaugely decent. Back before I lost weight, I had a big selection of 38C bras that were sexy and comfortable; now I consider myself lucky if I can find anything at all! (And I'm still somewhat irritated that I seem to lose weight first from my chest and then from everywhere else.)

I second how good the UK is. There is even a huge range of bras for my little sister! (32AA). She's very happy about this, my dad less so about a 12-year-old who likes lingerie shopping :D

I used to shop at La Senza for my underwear, but that was a bit too expensive. So now i get it from H&M, and i really like their underwear. I'm quite small up top (32B in padded bras, and probably a 32A in non-padded, but i never buy those!), and they have a nice range of padded well-fitting bras for my size, and cheap too! (3 in H&M for the price of 1 in La Senza!)

I don't think that the prices in La Senza are that high (baring in mind I go when there's sales, so a bra is £9 or so), but then I'm comparing it to M&S (upwards of £20).

If you like La Senza, you should check them out again when they have a sale. I recently bought 3 very nice bras for about $37 CDN (all taxes in)! Two of them were $12 each and one (the nicest one, actually) was only $8.

Hmmm the bras i've bought in La Senza were £25-£30. I've never been during a sale though, will have to next time they have one! Although i have become quite fond of H&M bras :)

I used to basically buy expensive lingerie, such as La Perla, Barbara, Chantelle, etc. but have found out H&M sells nice playful & often changing lines of incredibly cheap lingerie, and I like that, why waste so much money on lingerie if I get tired of the same sets after a while?

I still buy an expensive set every now and then, Chantelle has such amazing and classy sets.

Stockings; Wolford all the way.

A few people have brought up H&M. I bought my swimsuit there and for swimsuits they didn't have anything bigger than a C cup, so I bought the C and my boobs half stick out. :p

But is it the same for bras? Do they have D cup bras? I never looked at their bras. I really like H&M but they don't have one around here, only near my parent's house.
