My favorite is soymage cream cheese. However, this is the only one I've tried, because I do not want all those hydrogenated oils.

I've heard that veganaise is good, is it the best? Never had it before, does it taste like mayo?

Having tried every imaginable vegan mayo...
Veganaise is definetely the best.

Also, Tofutti is the only "cream cheese" that even comes close to edible. I recommend the herbs and chives flavour.

If you go to the tofutti website, they explain why they use hydrogenated oils. Because that's the only way it will even come close to cheese. This is true. And worth it. (And if you have one bagel with tofutti every once in a while, it won't kill you. A hydrogenated oil here and there ain't so bad.)

TOFUTTI! I lovvvve the stuff. I actually never used to eat cream cheese before I was vegan, but now I try more things because they're not as gross! Tofutti is cheap, $1.80 at Trader Joe's if I remember correctly.

heh, tommy gun, i do that too
i had vegan fake liver once and it was so good

its weird eating the fakes but never the real thing...
before i went vegan i never tried sour cream... so i missed out with baked potatoes, mexican food, etc

i like the low fat tofutti ones... i think they are softer and spread easier... but they even taste lighter

but yeah, nothing ever beats Vegenaise

Wait. Hold the horses. Vegan fake liver?

I am one of those very weird people that actually used to *like* liver and onions. (Looking back now I realize how sickening this is, but...)

Where did you come about vegan liver? I'm very curious to try it... If anyone's actually had liver, you know it has this really unique taste and texture that I don't think it's possible to duplicate...

Toffutti cream cheese is so very good.. I don't eat stuff containing hydrogenated oils very often, so I don't feel bad about the occasionaly indulgence.. yum!
Vegenaise is very good, imo. I love the stuff! I never cared much for real mayo - like helman's or whatever. I used to prefer miracle whip, which Nayonaise is like.. but now I prefer Vegenaise.. go figure

speaking of eating weird fakes.. I've had fake eel, I quite enjoyed it too, though I would've never tried the real thing.

Yea, I was pretty gross when I was omni. Liver, sushi.. Definetely did the eel.

However, hamburgers and chicken wings used to gross me out. Go figure.

I saw vege chopped liver yesterday when I visited Zabar's in Manhattan. And I've heard of it before. There must be a recipe online somewhere.
