View Full Version : Feeding a Magazine Addiction

Yesterday I stopped in at the little bookstore our local library foundation runs, and picked up some magazines. Most are Aug or Sept issues, but some were the current October issues. Besides the food/cooking mags that I love, I found stuff like Organic Style and ReadyMade, and a variety of other publications, all for 50 cents apiece!
I'm definitely going to start passing along my own magazines to the library foundation so others can read them after I'm finished. I save money, the library benefits, and it helps our community reduce/reuse/recycle.
Does anyone else have a system for passing along magazines to multiple users?

We don't have anything like that where I live, but I sure wish we did. I would love to do something like that. Lucky you!

Our library has a free magazine table as you walk in. It's wonderful--I've read all kinds of magazines that I never would have bought; such a great variety!

Damn I wish we had something like that here. I am a magazine junkie and would love to have a way to pass them on for others.

A chain bookstore sells used magazines?! Wow, I hope they expand to the West Coast....

Sometimes women's shelters will take donations of reasonably current magazines.

Karen, Half Price Books sells books cheap (probably books that were mis-cut or mis-printed) and used books; They buy/sell/trade. I also live in Columbus.
I just looked at the Website, www.halfpricebooks.com and they are in California--Berkely, Concord, Fremont.
I've lived Columbus for two years. I've not been there yet. Actually, I've not been to any used bookstore, but I've been getting pleny of free and very cheap new books, which I'm not reading....

Hey, if they're in Northern California, Southern Cali can't be too far in the future. :)
Fortunately, we do have several secondhand bookstores around here already, and they're wonderful. I only wish I had more time to read!
