My cherished Carmex will soon run out, and I've vowed to replace it with a vegan alternative at that time.

Suggestions?

Many thanks from Ceryna, the Carmex junkie. XD

beauty without cruelty makes a good one w/ vit c - i used to use caramex all the time too, and i think the bwc one works very well!

i have 2, one is from the body shop and works ok, the other is from yves rocher and tastes kinda lemony but it's in sort of a lipstick case and is softer than the other kinda so it runs out really fast. i like both and i think both are vegan

my very very very favourite is "the merry hempster vegan lip balm", tangerine flavour.

they sell it in sticks at my hfs, and you can get it online at veganessentials, too.

Could you please tell me the name of the one from the body shop? I'm having trouble finding one that I don't have to order. Thanks. :)

Pangeaveg.com carries several different brands.. only one I've tried from there is Azida, which isn't very good imo - it reminds me of glue stick. yuck
The best I've had is made by Virgin Body company if I remember right .. I dunno of any place that carries them, I can't even remember where I bought the stick that I have from them, which is realy bad because it's almost gone!

I use a brand called All Around The World vegan lip balm, I get it from veganessential.com. it's grapefruit flavored, and nice and smooth.

I second the BWC one. It has a hit of orange flavor plus the spf is nice.

I third the BWC one. It's the only vegan lip balm I've found with an SPF (the SPF 18 put out by Merry Hempsters contains beeswax), and a tube of it lasts a pretty long time.

I just picked up some of Pangea's brand lip balm. Vanilla flavour. Quite yummy and works well.

Ack! I'm going to have to look at these from my PC at home..Something about the name makes their sight deemed 'not safe for work'...

Possibly it's because they have flavors like Chocolate Nipple Ripple, Clitoris Citrus, Don't Need No MANgo, Shaved Peach, Aerola Apricot, Muffberry, Strawberry Snatch, etc. :o :D

I am a lip balm junkie!! I have way too much, especially from when before I was vegan. :(
(anyone know if the Bath and Body Works lip balm is vegan?)

Here's some vegan ones I have;

-the body shop key lime
-the body shop hemp lip balm
-Mad Gab's Lip Lube (I love this!) in both Lavender and Cinnamon
from Wild Oats:
-Lip Schtick
-Merry Hempsters

notice how you say you're Addicted.... you don't need lip balm. your lips produce natural emoliants if you let them. If you start using lip balm you need to always use it. just don't start...

in any case, if i go for a while without using it, my lips crack and bleed. a lot. it's disgusting and painful. my hands do the same thing if i go without lotion.

Arbonne's Lip Protector w/ SPF 15 is minty, cool, and tingly. And vegan!

Even though I sell Arbonne, I'm going to have to check out those naughty sounding lip balms that FemmeDemonica mentioned...geez, it was getting me worked up :P

Dr. Hauschka's lip balm has beeswax in it, making it not vegan.

I like the Merry Hempsters too, the tins of anise and vanilla. :)

I love this brand. It's the best hemp lip balm I've used (and I think I've tried them all). I get the peppermint from vegan essentials. It makes my lips feel nice and tingly.

I've never seen the grapefruit flavor, though. Was that awhile ago? Right now they only have peppermint and spearmint.

Just got back from Whole Foods. Couldn't find a single lip balm that didn't use beeswax.

I ordered some of the spearmint lip balm from Vegan Essentials, so we'll see how I like it! ^_^

(I also ordered a nifty t-shirt and a bumper sticker that says "Vegetarians Taste Better" XD )
