Well, I have only been able to find a bumpersticker that says "Vegetarians Taste Better", the t-shirt just says "vegan". Sorry if I was unclear in how I wrote that. ^^;;
Pangea has a lot of t-shirts, and I'll nose around on the web a bit and see if I can track one down for you. ^___^

Thank you! How cool...it's so cute :) I've never been with a vegetarian...I wonder if it's true? hehehe

is vaseline not vegan? i know it's got chemicals, but it doesn't contain animal products, does it? i know there's no beeswax...

From what I have learned, Vaseline is vegan in it's ingredients. However, the company that makes it (anyone know?) might test on animals, so that might be something you may want to consider. Plus, the petroleum in it is just no good for you!

what's the problem with petroleum?

"Chapstick, Blistex and other common lip balms contain petroleum-based ingredients, including petrolatum, paraffin and mineral oils, which are derived from the same crude oil that is used to make gasoline and grease. To mask these unpleasant odors, harsh, synthetic fragrances are required. These products may feel good initially, but dry out the lips in the long run. What the skin doesn't recognize, it won't absorb as well."
That's a quote I found that best describes what's wrong with petroleum. Personally, I won't let it come near my body because it's so unnatural.

I got my All Around The World spearmint lipbalm in the mail yesterday, and it's great.
I'll still miss the enticing tingle of my cherished Carmex, but I can live without it as long as I have the cool, minty goodness of this stuff to take its place. ^____^

I am a lip balm junkie!! I have way too much, especially from when before I was vegan. :(
(anyone know if the Bath and Body Works lip balm is vegan?)
Here's some vegan ones I have;
-the body shop key lime
-the body shop hemp lip balm
-Mad Gab's Lip Lube (I love this!) in both Lavender and Cinnamon
from Wild Oats:
-Lip Schtick
-Merry Hempsters
As far as I know, The Body Shop`s Hemp Lip Balm is not vegan. Unless the ingredients are different there.. anyway the Hemp Lip Balm they sell here contains beeswax.. and maybe lanolin too, I`m not sure.
I think that none of The Body Shop`s lip balms is vegan. :surprised

I make my own vegan lipbalm. I sell it, too if anyone's interested in the swap forum.

my very very very favourite is "the merry hempster vegan lip balm", tangerine flavour.
they sell it in sticks at my hfs, and you can get it online at veganessentials, too.
I second "the merry hempster" i'm in love with the stuff, my lips have never been softer

In my experience, the Body Shop's lip balms generally have beeswax and/or lanolin in them.

I'd try looking at an herb store for lip balm.

I've been using the All Around The World spearmint hemp balm for awhile and I've loved it, but when my last tube ran out, I decided to try Merry Hempsters Vanilla.
I'm not impressed. It's not bad, but when I run out, I'm going back to the All Around The World.

I too used All Around the World for awhile, since it was all that was available around the parts. I still have a tube, but I really like Merry Hempster's tangerine. Keeps my lips soft and tasting yummy. :) I made my own for awhile in college, and really would like to start again as I hate the waste of those darn little tubes.

I'm a fan of Pussy Pucker Pots. It's nice lip balm, plus who can resist flavors like Strawberry Snatch, Vanilla Vulva and Nice Melons. :D

Jess - I've wanted those ever since I saw them, but they're too pricey for me :(
I like Candy Kisses - they're vegan, and I found them for only $2.

You can find lip balm at my website http://www.cleanvegan.com . We have a balm (kisser fixer) and a gloss (li-kitty split). They're all-natural, vegan (of course) and they last forever. If you like flavored lip balms, we should be adding a few in the next little while.

I saw on the cleanvegan website that some of the products contain Diazolidinyl Urea. I never buy products with this preservative since I always thought it came from an animal source. But this website states that it uses only all vegan ingredients. So now I'm confused. Does anyone know if Diazolidinyl Urea is animal derived? Or can I buy stuff?

Hey, it's Mandie from Dirty Kitty Vegan Soapworks. Diazolidinyl Urea was originally derived from animals. Now, most, if not all, Diazolidinyl Urea (certainly the type that we use at Dirty Kitty) is completely synthetic. A few out of date vegan info pages still list it as animal-derived but that is almost never the case. I've yet to come across a supplier that uses the animal derived type but it is always best to check with the manufacturer just to be safe. I know the name "diazolidinyl urea" sends off alarms in the head of every meticulous label reader but it is the safest effective preservative that we have found. I can assure you that all DK products are vegan. If you have any other questions, please feel free to ask! :bow:
