This quote is great :dizzy:
"This (fois gras) has been around forever. Why is it all of the sudden an issue? The USDA controls how livestock, poultry and duck farms are run. If the USDA thought there was cruelty they would step in."-(Illinois Restaurant Association President Colleen McShane)
SUUUUUUUURE they would Colleen:rolleyes: , the US govt. only has your best interest at heart always!
This is another fun quote from the article: "No other egg production, pork production, beef production, dairy production -- nowhere do we intentionally create a desperately ill animal, slaughter it just before it's gonna die because you've made it so ill, and then take this diseased organ, mix it up with herbs and spices and slap it on a cracker on New Year's Eve."
:surprised
Well, yeah, she's the one trying to convince the others of the immorality of foie gras production, but she still doesn't get out much, does she?
OMG. Don't get me on the topic of foie-gras. I'll be here for hours.
80% of foie gras production comes from France. I am seriously seriously of starting an on-line petition to send to the French government which suggests that people who make and sell foie-gras (and this would include people who own restaurants) should be taken to a special place where they will be force-fed through the f***ing gullets all day long until their livers bloat up.
I know it's an old Roman tradition but does that make it good????
This Christmas, I'm going to be standing in front of shops that sell it with tracts describing in graphic details what people are buying. With pictures and everything. I'm going to do my best to spoil people's Christmas who buy the stuff. I'm going to play Evil Santa. :santa:
And I'll make sure their kids get to see the tract as well.

The Farm Sanctuary was instrumental in getting it banned in California . . . but I don't think it has to be completely eliminated for 12 years, or something weird.
