Any way to do this?? and if so.. what veggies is a good idea.. we just heading into summer here.. and love the thought of some fresh homegrown veggies..
i currently have strawberries... that are slowly growing.. and already have strawberries just waiting to ripen.. i have a nice protected courtyard that gets almost full sun... and the one garden i have there is taken up by rosemary and lavender.. any herbs that i can plant around the base of these two plants..?
i have sage growing with my strawberries.. and oregano and parsley.. but want to increase my herbs an veggies..
also.. i bought kale... but dont know if its ornamental or regular... its purple and green... are both types edible.. and how does one cook it..??
newbie gardener here..so any tips..:shy:
Growing veggies in pots is definitely possible! Here's a link to a container gardening site:

There are even varieties of vegs bred specifically to be small enough to grow in pots, but they bear fullsize crops.
Ornamental kale is edible but might not taste as good as kinds bred specifically for eating. Generally you cook it by boiling. I like to make soup from it. Or if you're a lacto-ovo vegetarian, you can add it to quiche.

Before we moved to the country, my bf had a pretty good container veggie garden on our deck - lots of herbs work fine in pots, we also had good success with tomatoes, peppers, zuchinni (need good sized pots), and some success with peas. Oh, and spinach in planter boxes. They do need to be watered more often than veggies in the ground, but they grew really well and we had less problems with bugs.
good luck!

Oh... I was wondering about the "POT" reference in the threads title...
Makes sense now. Nevermind.

It sure can, but using only water would be a waste, for the THC is fat soluble so you'd need a source of fat such as Earth Balance to stir-fry... errr, nevermind :sealed:

Guys...be good and don't discuss illegal things, okay? (I had the same thought as TNS when I saw the thread title).
I have a patio tomato plant in a pot, and it's done so-so this summer. It currently (now that the weather has cooled off a bit) has flowers on it so I'm hoping for a few more tomatoes before summer ends. I had a patio cucumber plant but it didn't make it because of my roommate's dog peeing in it. (:grr: )
I'm interested in growing greens in containers so I'd appreciate info as well.
