View Full Version : My face is breaking out!

I used to use face washes like olay, clean and clear, neutrogena, clearasil, etc. and they kept my skin clear, but I desperately need to find a medicated and oil-free acne wash that is cruelty-free and vegan. I tried Freeman Totally Juicy Apricot Scrub, but it made me break out. I also used plain oatmeal, but my skin is getting yucky and it used to be clear when I used medicated cleansers. Know of any vegan ones that have salicylic acid/benzoyl peroxide and no oil? It's the only thing that will work for me. Not too pricey, but I'd definitely buy something like kiss my face, jason, toms of maine, nivea, queen helene etc. if anyone knows any specifics, but the only "natural" cleansers I've found had tons of oil and no medication in them.
THANKS!

I like this neem soap: http://http://www.onevillage.org/soap.htm

or can opt for a natural vegetable derived glycerin facial soap that is targeted for acne prone skin. You can find it at local HFS. One of the good ones is from a company Clearly Natural Products.

Try to avoid soaps that contains BP/SA because it'll damage your skin in the future..can cause your skin to dry thus resulting in wrinkles early.

ETA: updated website address.

I use Nelson's organic and vegan product. I buy it at whole foods. It works well removing the "red" and seems to work better in the "beginning" stage of a blemish. I can't think of what the ingredients are though.

i use basis facial cleansers and drink tons of water... when i start to break out i actually have to analyze my diet because too much salt/sugar/fat can make me break out..... bigtime

this might help: http://www.tetrasil.com/

I read it in Healthy Living and did some research. It mentioned that it was good for acne.

I don't know about any cleansers, but I've been using tea tree oil when I break out (only at night, it has a funky smell to it) and it works really well to dry stuff up.

Words of advice: Never use a scrub if you're breaking out! It will only make it worse.

I have battled with acne in the past few months myself, and it took a change of birth control pill before I really saw much of a difference.
