my big boy Harvey had runny eyes so we took him to the vet this morning.i was shocked when he told me he thought it could be myxomatosis (apparently he hasn't got a swollen back end, which i'm told is a good sign). he's had an antibiotic jab and has cream for his eyes, plus oral a/b we have to give him.my other rabbit, Ralph hasn't shown any signs of it yet (touch wood) we seperated them on friday because i didn't want him to catch Harvey's 'eye infection'.Harvey has to go back to the vets on friday to see how he's doing.i can't believe another one of my animals is so ill, especially after mini's brush with death.i just hope he's ok :(
i'll keep you posted on his progress.

i'm sorry that i haven't replied to let you know what hapened - i've been too upset.
Harvey was put to sleep on 23rd september - 5 days before my 18th birthday, we had Ralph vaccinated against it that day but it was too late, he had to be euthanazed 5 days after my birthday on the 3rd of october. both of my boys were gone within 10 days of each other.we buried them side by side in the garden.
i'm totally devestated.
if you have a rabbit who hasn't yet been vaccinated against myxomatosis, please get it done, don't put it off, once your bunny gets this virus, it will almost certainly kill it.
i only wish i'd known about the vaccine, if i did, my boys would still be here now.

I'm really sorry about what your rabbits had to go through..... I've come across wild rabbits suffering from myxomatosis; it isn't pretty. But hey, anything so the human species can rule, right?
As far as I know, the vaccine is totally banned in this dump (Australia), for fear of it spreading to wild rabbits (banned doesn't mean it won't eventually be released, though ;)).
