I have a second bathroom that rarely gets used. It is more of a cat room than a bathroom. The toilet has developed hard water stains because it doesn't get used very often. I clean it on a regular basis, but this doesn't seem to be enough. Does anyone know of a commericial (or home made) product that will remove these stains. It is starting to bother me a bit.
Thanks.

Distilled Vinegar.
But Ecos is a very good animal/environment friendly and chemical free product that will help clean out the stain.

I usually pour some bleach in the toilet and let it sit there until I need to use the toilet again. Thus far, its been quite effective in cleaning it.

Chlorine bleach is good for cleaning, but bad for the environment. I tend to use it only as a last resort.
Vinegar is a good suggestion. Combine it with baking soda for foaming action.
Anything with vitamin C (ascorbic acid) is good for cleaning toilets. This would include soda/cola (in case you have some that has gone flat), Tang or similar mixes, and even those denture cleaner tablets (like Efferdent) can be used. This becomes largely a question of what is economical.

I don't think bleach will work for hard water stains, you need something acidic to help disolve the deposits and bleach is a strong base. vinegar or any of the other acidic suggestions would probably work better.

What my mom uses is this pumuce stick thing. You basically scrub off the stain like you scrub scaly feet.

This one is super expensive, she buys hers for about 2 or 3 dollars and they last quite a long time.

Pumuce thingy works well.
Also, if you are very poor or can't find one, baking soda does help....but it will take forever and a day to get rid of it.
