I have a question inspired by the Gazelle thread...

Does anyone own a Nordic Track (or any other ski machine - not sure who else makes them)? I have a treadmill but it is LOUD, and I want a quieter piece of equipment. It also takes up a ton of space, and I think ski machines are supposed to be fairly small.

If you have one/have had one, do you like it? Is it noisey? Is it a good workout (at least on par with a fast walk on a treadmill)?

Any opinions would be greatly appreciated. :hamster:

has to be mastered, but once you do they are no problem. For me, the Eliptical is just so easy to use. I feel like they both take up some good amount of space, but they are quieter because you provide all the power versus a treadmill. They also both burn more energy, because you are using your arms as well as legs. They are also both NO impact versus LOW impact. I had the ski machine for a while and very nice, but we started having meetings in our home and it was put away for 13 weeks. When I pulled it out again, I found that I had to re-learn how to use it. With the Eliptical, it is like a ski machine w/ training wheels. No problems.
Hope this helps.

Our gym has a bunch and I'll sometimes do it; but I never feel like I've really worked out afterwards. It says that 500 cals are burned.... but when I get off, I'm like... how?... It's very quiet though and it does work out your arms too. Though you could just carry 3 pound weights or something on your tredmill and get the same thing I would think.
