Your lists were one of my favorite things on the Vegweb forum. Thanks!

I don't know how much has changed in the past few years...but about 5 years Nike had sweat shops....slave labor. Supposedly that's why Michael Jordan stopped endorsing them by doing their commercials. Not sure if they are still doing that though...:(

Are you now suggesting that slaves are animals too?

Nike is an evil company. Has anyone seen Michael Moore's "The Big One"? I hate Phil Knight. Check out www.cleanclothes.org.

Oatmeal, I have no idea what your question means........can you rephrase it or something? I'm quite confused.

Didn't mean to confuse, Herself, I say weird things all the time.

Here I was trying to figure out how a vegan pro-slavery person would react to your statement.

iknow iknow iknow some people say don't joke about serious issues. i say joke about everything coz there ain't no serious or unserious things.

I get it now. LOL. Are there really any vegans that are pro-slavery? 'Cause technically, humans are animals too ya know. Lots of times jokes go way over my head. :)

My family and I were watching the Simpsons last night and a commercial came on for Air Jordans from Nike with Michael Jordon in the ad. I

So many ?????????

Too bad for them that when a company get's bad publicity (like they have or had), I'm out.....for a long time......

Nike ? FORGET IT. (nothing personal)

That's cool that they have so many non-leather shoes!

not that I can afford any of them. you'd think their prices would be a little cheaper with all the sweatshops. ;)

Actually, Nike has done some work to clean up their act - of course, it took someone making their abuse of sweatshop labor public first to do so...Still, it could be better. There are some places in China that aren't sweatshop, and I have heard that Nike is finally using these facilities to try and make the public think that they're a "respectable" company. We'll see how well that takes.

If you want to talk real sweatshop labor, point a few fingers at Wal-Mart. Come on, are we supposed to believe that the workers are being paid more than pennies per hour when their shoes cost as low as $10 per pair? Absolutely terrible...and to think I once purchased from them. Shame on me!

I'd rather buy the competitively priced, high quality vegan shoes like Nagevi before I'd ever buy Nike again. Support vegan businesses and help grow the market for products exclusively designed, manufactured, and sold for us!
