nope. i'm surprised that no one is speaking out for them specifically. this would be a great time for some of our favorite veggie celeb's to comment on the slow, even reluctant responses for the animals. also this is an excellent time to get public interest in changing emergency aid legislation to include people and their pets from now on. someone just needs to come out and talk about it, dammit. where the heck are they?

Other than Matthew Mcconaughey, I've only heard of a couple of celebs doing anything. I think Rue McClanahan spoke out about the slow response, though I don't have details on that. Also, I read today that American Idol winnder Carrie Underwood was donating a portion of her concert proceeds to the Humane Society. From what I understand she's a vegetarian too.

I know that Daniel Johns is pretty active with Animal Liberation in Australia, and he wrote a pretty powerful letter to the organization, for the infamous elephant Arna, who finally won a "lawsuit" over her cruel conditions in which she was treated. I don't mean to bash celebrities, but not all the ones that even "speak out" against the grossness of fur, etc are vegans/vegetarians. I mean, isn't it a little hypocritical to sit there and yell at someone about wearing fur, but then sometimes you eat a juicy steak? And it's not like celebrities don't have the money or resources to do that, they are just lazy. I don't know, I mean I really respect them for coming out and saying stuff against animal cruelty, because people very often mimick celebrities, I just wish all of them could apply it to their lifestyles. I dunno, tell me if I'm being a little harsh.

no i agree too. i guess its just like people i know though.... they claim to love animals so much and would do anything for them yet they eat meat too. i posted something on here about it a while ago and i guess someone tried to explain it by saying dogs/cats are different to most people then other animals are. i understand that what ya mean. i mean when i hear about a new celeb helping animals i always wonder to myself if they are now veggie or not.

I just try to remember that none of us are perfect - including celebs. We all do the things we can, whether it's fighting for animal rights, eating vegetarian/vegan, buying cruelty free or working with animal rescue groups.
