Dill Pickles

This recipe is suitable for a: vegetarian or vegan diet

Category: Condiments, Dressings, Spreads




Ingredients:

4 pounds cucumbers (small)
3 cups white vinegar
3 cups water
1/3 cup table salt
2 tbsp (per pint) dill seed
3 (per pint) peppercorns




Instructions:

Wash and cut cucumbers in half. Combine white vinegar, water and salt, bring to a boil.

Pack cucumbers into hot, sterile jars and add to each jar 2 tbsp of dill seed and 3 peppercorns. Add vinegar mixture up to 1/2 inch of the top of the bottle.

Adjust lids and seal and process in boiling water bath for 15 min.

Yields about 4 pints.

YAY! I am always looking for new and different pickle recipes. Actually mine is similar I guess, but I add some red jalapenos for color.
