Mine aren't either. If you think they're going to rot, pick them and put them in a warm windowsill to ripen. They probably will.

Otherwise just wait it out and they will start ripening soon. We're supposed to have another week of warm weather here in Washingtn State, coming up here next week, that may help...

Hey, I only have one tomato! Weather in my area was really bad for tomato growing this year, my five plants just recently started blossoming.

My average first frost is the beginning of October. I'm hoping to set up some clear plastic tarp or something to protect from frost and allow what few tomatos I'm going to get actually ripen.

If tomatoes have started to ripen when first frost hits, the day before you're expected to get a frost, pull the entire plant and hang it up somewhere it's protected from frost. The tomatoes will continue to ripen (those that are mature). Or you can pick all the mature tomatoes off the plant and ripen them on the counter.

i have my own tomato question: back when my family tried to grow tomatoes in the side yard, they would all get yucky black spots on the bottom by the time they turned red :(. anyone know what that means?

Yes, it's a nasty thing called "Blossom-end Rot" and is usually caused by a lack of calcium in the soil.

ETA - I had to look this up to check and I was only partly right - it's due to a calcium deficiency in the plant, even though there might be enough calcium in the soil, the plant is not taking it up due to overwatering or overfertilization.

Some tomatoes are yellow, too.
