Can anyone recommend an all natural, cruelity free shampoo and conditioner.
I have really long hair that needs a conditioner that is easy to detangle out this long  : crazy hair of mine. I would kiss you'r feet if you could find me the perfect conditioner. Thanks for any info!

Jungle Hair Conditioner Bar - that's right - it's a solid bar... made by LUSH COSMETICS... love it, love it...

My har is like a nest of steel-wool... seriously heavy, frizzy, coarse, curly, long.. this stuff fixes it up nicely!

(BEst not kiss my feet 'till I have my pedicure tomorrow...)

The Conditioner made by Paul Mitchell. It is great stuff, and has lots of practical uses. Great for moisturizing your skin/face, shaving and it has a built-in sunblock. It also helps with sunburn. I had a bicycle wreck a few months back and got some nasty road rash. I applied The Conditioner liberally, along with Neosporin and basically have no scarring despite the seriousness of the wreck.
I highly recommend it, unless you have ultra-fine hair. It might be too heavy, as it's a leave-in that you would put in your hair after you get out of the shower/bath.

Thanks for the replys! I ordered the Jungle Hair conditioner bar and a few other things from Lush. What great items they have! It will take a few weeks to get here,so in the meantime I will go get the Paul Mitchell conditioner and try it. :)

Brandon, is the Paul Mitchell conditioner available in salons only? Or at drug stores and places like Walgreens or Rite-Aid? It seems to me I HAVE seen it, but can't think where... is it OK for color-treated/highlighted hair?

I am in love with the Jungle Conditioner but it IS hard to find... I would like something easier to get, if possible - though finding something that'd work for my hair is always next to impossible...

Aveda. Their Elixer Leave In Conditioner is surprisingly awesome (leave ins tend to disappoint!) But I have stupid long hair, and it does the trick.

Freeman makes some kick ass shampoos and cond.
They are vegan and not tested on animals.
ALso, if anyone has an Eckerd's drug store in their area...their store brand shampoos, conditoners and body washes, are CHEAP, non-tested, mostly-organic and free of animal by-products. Best of all it isn't an 'accidentally vegan' thing...they are proud of it and it lists the cruelty-freeness proudly on their product.

Word up to Eckerds, seems like some products worth supporting.

Yeah, it's generally salon-only. I have seen it at an Albertson's grocery store (not sure if you all have those in the NW or not) and I know that the salons in (:sealed:) Wal-Mart carry it. If you have Ulta stores there, you should be able to find it there as well.

So thank you for the tip on Jungle hair conditioner. Now I have to order more because hubby wants to use it too! So do I really have to kiss you'r feet?

Another vote for Paul Mitchell Conditioner. Brandon's right, that stuff is amazing! I have lots of fine hair and I just use it like a normal conditioner but I don't rinse it out all the way. That works really well for me because I can control how much stays in my hair moreso than any other conditioner out there. I've been using it for over 10 years. Good stuff! :)

Edited to add: You can usually pick some up at a Sally's or other beauty supply store. It's cheaper there. It seems a little pricey but a bottle lasts for so long I think it's about the same price as drug store brands when you factor in how long you can use it.

No, it's probably ABBA. It's a salon brand that doesn't test on animals and are vegan.

My favorite conditioner is plain old coconut oil. I just put some on my hair before I wash it, comb it through, and wash it out with shampoo. (and I have almost waist length hair...)

No it's not Alba (I've heard of this brand before though). The one I use is called "Abba Pure Moisture Conditioner" contains Sage, Geranium and Mint which is herbal therapy for healing and conditioning. Here's a pic:

Giovanni 50/50 balanced remoisturizer is great for dry hair. If your hair is damaged, Giovanni also had a deep conditioning treatment with protein to strengthen.

I also agree that coconut oil is a great treatment. You can use it before you wash your hair for protein or just a little bit as a conditioner. However, be careful if you color your hair (especially reds!). A lot of salons use coconut oil to fade hair color.

Vo5 doesn't test on animals, and I know the bottle says 'Moisture Milks' but it's soy.

It's only a dollar, though I don't know how widespread the brand is...
& o my knowledge it's vegan
