4 mile run today.
Hi Hamsters,
Good to be back! We had a really great vacation in Yellowstone and the Grand Tetons. I couldn't run there to save my life...huge difference in altitude. I did run a great 16 mile before we left but decided to skip the 18 when I tried to run up in the mountains. I ran everyday while I was out there, but they were short and I had to stop and catch my breath on 3-4 mile runs.
When I got back I ran a 13 mile run that was really bad for all of us. We aren’t sure if it was the heat or that we were feeling a little cocky and didn’t give the 13 mile the respect it deserved….don’t know but it hurt.
Saturday is the 20 mile…wish us luck. I hope it goes as easy as the 16…that was a great run. We are going to go to Milwaukee and run with a group there that is training for the same marathon we are training for. It sure is nice training with other people for a change, I don’t know how I did this alone.
Go Hamsters!!!!

Last night I ran 5km in 32:28 minutes and then kept walking until I reached 7km.
My 10km race is on the 18th September! I'm both excited and nervous. I'm so glad I entered because it's really given me motivation to exercise regularly.

Thursday: 30 minutes running/walking intervals (2 miles), 20 minutes weightlifting, 10 minutes cycling cooldown.
Hey Hamsters!
Four mile run on Wed. and a three mile today. I'll either go for a walk or an easy bike ride tomorrow, then the 20 mile on Sat. Yeah...We're almost there.
Captain, you live up around the mountains don't you? What is the altitude there? I couldn't believe what a difference the altitude made in my running. We are at about 750 ft where I live, during our vacation we were between 7000 and 8000 ft. All our bags of snacks expanded...we thought they were goin to blow up...wierd. Great runs! Go you.
Amy, great workout!
Shadowlee, Wow, good luck in the 10K :pibo: sounds like you'll have no problem meeting that goal. Way to go!
Elena, Glad you're feeling better! Way to Hamster!
Go Hamsters!! :hamster: :vebo:

I haven't been feeling my best this week so the hamstering has been down a bit. I really wanted to do a long run today but mentally and physically I just didn't feel good. But at least I did something :)

Today was rpm class (spinning class) for about 50 minutes. It was pretty challenging, my butt's still sore.

Slynny, yep. I live in a pass area between two mountain ranges. I'll check the elevation with my forerunner this weekend.
This weekend I am going camping so I'll be doing some hiking and a 10 mile run on Sunday.
