Peanut Butter Banana Blanket

This recipe is suitable for a: vegetarian diet

Category: Snacks

Ingredients:
-----------------------------------------------------

1 Tortilla (of any kind)
1-2 Tbs. Peanut Butter
1 Banana

Instructions:
-----------------------------------------------------

This is a really simple thing to make. Just spread the peanut butter over the tortilla, set the banana on whole, then roll it all together (like you would with veggie "pigs in a blanket"). Then wrap this in a paper towel and warm in the microwave from 5-20 seconds (mainly just to soften the peanut butter). I normally choose to then slice it width-wise into 3/4" slices. Enjoy!

Additional comments:
-----------------------------------------------------

*This recipe MAY be vegan-friendly as well, but I'm not too sure on the peanut butter..

I always find it so funny when people think peanut butter isn't vegan - it is!! There is no butter in it, just peanuts and salt (if you get the real stuff), or peanuts, oil, salt and sugar/corn syrup otherwise. Of course not everyone's diet can be comprised almost entirely of peanut butter like mine seems on some days!! ;-) Can't get enough of the stuff ;-)

Of all the ingredients, I'd be most careful of the tortilla shell, because it could have lard (maybe whey?), but otherwise this sounds pretty interesting, I'll give it a shot!! Thanks!

Haha, I knew that peanut butter doesn't actually have any butter in it, I just wasn't sure if there was any milk added. Good to know though..

*sigh* That is a very sad truth. I have not found a non-hydrogenated vegan version :(

I recently saw a vegan version at Food Fight recently, but it was very expensive.

I have eaten this a sandwich. I get tired of breads now and again. I LOVE Peanut butter.... I wouldn't call this a sandwich. It's a meal quite often. "Fast food" is my favorite types of meals. This works as that. :nana:
