There was some stupid lady who had too many cats and she never fed them.She was finally caught. The officers found 200 dead cats in seperate plastic garbage bags thrown in her backyard.

The sad thing is that it happens quite often. The people that hoard have a mental illness and I just wish someone, anyone (neighbors maybe?) paid attention to the isssue before it got out of hand. Someone had to know...

And true, it is a mental illness. These people often think they're taking care of the animals and aren't capable of realizing the harm they're causing even with the filth and death around them.
