Okay, I'll warn you that a pretty gruesome picture pops up right away.

This owner turned the dog over to a peta official a little while ago, but the dog was put to sleep. You could see straight through to his brain and tongue.

What the HELL?

Life amazes me. The horrible things animals can still live through... you'd think they'd die from pain or shock.

i don't understand how any human is capable of allowing their pet to deteriorate to such a condition. People can be evil.

OK, a dog does not turn into a walking compost heap overnight. It's not like these people (read: MONSTERS) looked away for a second and all of a sudden this happened. They had plenty of time to do something.. ANYTHING about it. There are a million other solutions out there besides just letting the dog rot away. How this couldn't be considered sever neglect and animal abuse would be beyond me, so I hope these people are in for what they're due. I just don't get it... I mean, I know plenty of people who eat meat and aren't animal lovers and actually dislike animals quite a bit, which is fine - to each their own - but they wouldn't do that to or wish that on any animal for any reason. Beyond that, I am speechless

I had to force myself to look at that despite the warning. That is a photo that will stick with me for life. You do ask, "how could anyone.." but unfortunately we know those kind of people well. A hundred bucks says that person had a new puppy within a week!

So gross. I saw the warning but went ahead and clicked b/c I didn't think it'd be that bad. I was eating when I saw this and it about made me sick. This is horrible. I don't know how people live with themselves. :spew:

That's probably what I should've titled this thread. But I agree. I don't know either.

It is just too easy to get a pet. People should have to be licensed or something, like people with exotic animals have to be.

OMG, the poor thing. The owner should have to be subjected to the same thing he/she made his dog endure.

Wow. That picture was somethin'. I didn't want to look at it. I was scared. Haha. I didn't like to look at unpleasent pictures. They stick in my head, and I think about them aways. Sometimes when I see or hear of the things we as people of to other's and also animals, I can't even phathom how they could do such a thing. I think, do they not care. Why?????????? But in the back of my mind I already know why things like that happen. We are human and evil. That's what i think. Other's are evil and one area, while another is evil in the other. We hurt and destory. Evil is in the world and evil is in us. God bless.

Good choice. I didn't have a warning when I went to PETA's website, so I was shocked.

Bunny Hugger--I don't know what happened, but I was thinking maybe an animal trap (like a bear trap) or even the dog's own collar...if the owner used a chain as a collar. I saw something similar on Animal Planet.

Guessing...
1. Cancerous mass left untreated for f***ing ever. Might explain the charcoal-like appearance of what used to be a skull.
2. Wound -> tissue necrosis -> maggots -> left untreated for f***ing ever. But that doesn't explain the irregular shape.

awww.... poor baby:cry: I cant believe someone could leave an animal in that condition knowing how much it was suffering. Dogs are very loyal to their families. He probably still loved them through the whole ordeal and rarely complained. Thats what makes it even sadder. Do not get a pet unless you are willing to commit to care for them like a family member! Are they so sick they would rather keep the dog in suffering then to give it up when this first happened. When they first decided they werent going to fix the problem??? Sorry, some people just AMAZE me.

Amaze isn't the word i would use, more like disgust. or something equaly or more vulgar

There PETA goes again, killing animals.

I don't see the pic there anymore, but I am sure it was horrifying.
