My toaster is on its last leg and I have been looking at buying a toaster oven. I've looked through Amazon and the reviews are not too promising. Just wondering which toaster ovens you use and recommend.

Great thread llechler! I'm shopping around for a new toaster oven right now as well, so I'm interested in seeing the responses you get.

I just got this one (http://store.yahoo.com/kitchenhome/bldetrtoclwi.html) to replace one that was probably 13 or more years old. No problems so far. It does tick as the toaster timer goes, then dings when it's done. Might get on someone's nerves. I like that the crumb tray slides completely out instead of tilting down as most others. Makes it easier to keep clean.

Christy, does it heat evenly? I know that was one concern reported on amazon.com with this item. Just curious....

Hmm...I never found that one on Amazon. From my limited use of it so far, I think it does. The shelf is adjustable, so you have to make sure you have it the desired distance from the top and bottom burners.

I have only one rule about a toaster oven - that it must have a little lever for "toasting", and knobs for everything else. The ones that you have to turn a couple knobs to toast - horrific, they take forever. I want my toast toasted in 1-2 minutes, not 10!! :-)

I think this is my toaster oven at home - note the LEVER!! :-)
