I don't think its a bad idea to transition her slowly. Why not let her have her milk for a while, and then perhaps slowly add soy milk to it, so she gets used to the flavor? Plus since you are a new vegan, you want to make sure you understand your own nutrition, and the special needs of your daughter, because changing two diets at once is harder than one. If she is very young, many soy milks have too much sugar and not enough fat for young ones.

Yeah I agree, I think you should introduce it slowly, as bstutzma says - like 2/3 milk and 1/3 soy milk in her cereal, then gradually increase the amount. I HATED soy milk too at first, now I love it! Some definitely taste alot better than others... Maybe try and find the one with less of the "soy" type taste. Hopefully she will begin to like it!
Oh and good luck with the veganism!!! :D

Try different milks. I really don't like the 'soy' taste, though now that I've drunk it for a while I like the chocolate one. But I liked oat milk and rice milk immediately. Try flavoured versions of those, too, they don't have the 'green' aftertaste that soy has. I love plain or vanilla Rice Dream on cereal.

soy milk may take some getting used to, you could try almond milk, rice milk :yum:, or coconut milk or water some people i know use water. if all else fail have some toast or dry cereal ^-^. good luck great to hear about you and your daughter! keep it up!
also try making your own milks, sometimes people perfer thouse.

much love and peace!

If she really doesn't like the soy milk, and rice/almond milks don't go over well either, try using a mild juice on her cereal. For drinking, try fooling her into thinking what she's drinking/eating is non-soy. She may dislike the idea rather than the actual taste.

You might want to try rice milk as it has a sweeter/milder flavour that soymilk. My favourite soymilk is Vitasoy Complete or Vitasoy Light which are a lot thinner and not as beany tasting as most soy milks.
