I have two cats - Fuzzy and Sputnik
Fuzzy is 8 years old and 20lbs of solid muscle. To take his temperature at the vet, it requires 3-4 people to hold him down. He has been known to push 70lb boxes out of his way. When I moved to Alberta, Air Canada classed him as a medium dog.
He's survived an apartment fire, a flight across Canada that gave him a nervous breakdown and several moves while in Alberta.
He belonged to a gang of raccoons while living in New Brunswick and was responsible for terriorist attacks on the neighborhood. He believed that store bought food was a last resort.
Now, he doesn't have the freedom he used to have, living next to a huge field and before a forest. Still, he is often seen sunning himself next to the spinach leaves in my condo's garden, protecting it from the miniature dog that keeps wanting to pee on my property.
Sputnik's age in unknown. I saw his photo in the newspaper. It said his owners didn't want him and locked him out of the house. The neighbors took him to the SPCA. They called the family and they wouldn't even tell them his name. The ad in the paper said that he would be put to sleep on Monday if no one came and got him. It was Saturday. I went down and asked for him. When I opened his cage door, he climbed on my shoulders and started purring. I walked out of the SPCA carrying him.
He is 18lbs of fat and fur. He has arthritis and is moody 350 days of the year.
He has a daily ritual which includes napping until 7am and then sobbing uncontrollably until someone says his name. He naps until 10am and has a snack. He naps until 3pm and asks to go outside. He looks outside and decides against it. He naps until 7pm. He goes outside and walks to the next condo and meows. They let him in and he watches TV with them for 30 minutes. He leaves their place and goes two more doors down. He visits them for 30 minutes. He then visits the 90 year old man, in between the other condos, and visits for 1 hour. Then he comes home.
He has a habit of picking on Fuzzy and gets a good beating. His favorite thing is to walk behind Fuzzy, swatting at his tail. Fuzzy loses his temper and body slams Sput.
