So my family decides to hold a hastily planned potluck/picnic at my place for my daughter's birthday. (5 sisters and spouses, Mom, Dad, Aunts, friends, my ex...).
My parents are vegetarian, but the rest of them aren't (though they are fairly health conscious) so I was somewhat skeptical that there would be anything I could eat (except for what I made.)
I decided to just let it go, since it was my daughter's birthday, and planned at short notice. Figured this once I wouldn't remind everyone, (yet again) that I was the vegan black-sheep of the family...
Well, get this - every single one of them, when they arrived, food in hand, said "I was afraid there wouldn't be anything for you to eat, so I made something vegan..."..
I was blown away. How very cool is THAT?!?
Needless to say, we all had a very yummy meal, (including VEGAN birthday cake and Tofutti Ice Cream) - we exchanged a lot of great recipes - they all admitted it the food was GREAT - and I have enough leftovers in my 'fridge to last two weeks!
I love my family. Just thought I'd share. :bobo: :bobo:
