hey!

for the past couple of weeks i've been doing yourself!fitness. it's a game for ps2, xbox, and pc that has a virtual physical trainer called maya who creates exercise routines for you.

i like it a lot. i have done exercise videos before, and it's similar, but much more interesting because the routine varies instead of being the same thing every single day. also, you track your progress and the difficulty is adjusted as you go along.

i admit i am doing this for weight loss, and i am totally a fitness beginner. of course there are high difficulty settings, but i can't speak for how it would go for someone more advanced. and for the aerobic exercises, the program seems to rely on some higher impact moves, so i probably wouldn't go for it if i had knee problems.

but i have a hard time sticking to exercise plans, and my weights suffers for it. this program has really helped me stay committed and i have already started losing weight.

there is more info about it at www.yourselffitness.com and a flash cartoon at www.datewithmaya.com

(there are meal plans included, but they are practically useless and can't be adjusted for a veg*n diet. hopefully in the sequel.)
