View Full Version : Baby Campbell is here! I'm officially an Aunt!

Today my sister had her first baby ... ironically enough, on her 31st b-day. Baby Campbell arrived 3 weeks early via c-section, but both mom and baby girl are doing great. Best of all, Campbell's early arrival means her dad got to experience the whole thing and has three weeks to spend with his girls before heading out to his second tour of Iraq. I am a very proud aunt! :D

First name. She's got one of those last name first names that seem so popular with the young'ns these days :p

lol. ok. I thought you were referring to it like when a baby doesn't have a name yet ("Baby Girl Smith"). Is it a family name or just a random choice? I always wonder with the last names as first names... cause sometimes its the mother's maiden name or something (man that must get confusing with credit card security questions...).

I'm looking forward to my siblings spawning. I'm not ready to have my own kids yet but I'd love a niece or nephew!

They've had this name picked out for about 5 months. Its so strange to actually see a baby to go with the name! Both my sister and her husband have 'c' names so they went all cutesy on me and decided the baby needed a 'c' name, too. :p Their last name ends with a strong 'e' sound, so they didn't want the baby's name to also end in a strong 'e' sound. I guess they thought it would sound too redundant. They liked the name Campbell and it meet the criteria.

I know how you feel about siblings spawning. I love the idea of being an aunt, but am not ready for kids myself. I'd settle with a boyfriend for now. Thankfully, I'm the younger sis, so the pressure is off of me for awhile.

Wow, congrats Jinga! That's so exciting - and SO great that baby's daddy got to be there for delivery and spend those first precious few weeks with her! (especially while mom recovers from a c-section!). Do you live close to the new family?

BTW, your sister must have been due at the same time as me, because I'm due 3 weeks from today! wow...that's a reality check, could happen any minute! :dizzy:

How could you not love babies? :D ... with the exception of all that pooping and screaming. :p

Colorful, we are about a 5 hours drive apart. Unfortunately, none of the extended family lives any closer to my sister. I talked to her this morning and she sounded so happy. She said Campbell was awesome :) I can't wait to meet her! I was just getting used to the idea of my sis being pregnant and now the babies already here. Its surreal. She was due around Sept 10-13th, but has been having pre labor pains for weeks. Good luck with your delivery!
