I think it's sad that the 'bad news' in the article was the poor ranchers lost $9000...I mean, who cares that thousands of lives have been taken? Let's feel bad for the ranchers!!! Holy geez....

Oh, c'mon, 9000 clams is nothing to sneeze at. If I lost $9,000 I'd be devastated, too; for me that's about half a year in paychecks. Unfortunately, these cattle were this rancher's livelihood. He wasn't selling hemp products, after all.
The biggest tragedy is that the ranchers in question (as well as society as a whole) will see these dead cattle as a lost commodity, nothing more.

Yeah, youre right...I just get irked when a monetary value is placed on lives...kinda like the whole, "A bucket of wings for 2.99!!"...Yay!! Only 3 bucks for a dozen lives!!
