Okay, I'm not sure if there is a thread about this or not, if there is I'm sorry for reposting it but I think it need to be looked at again and again, and if it not posted then I think everyone should prepare themselves for this.

While looking at another site devoted to the enviornment, I stumbled upon a person with a link in thier signature, not uncommon. However, I went to this oen when i saw the name: Iams Cruelty
Iams is the brand of cat foor that we buy for our cat in my house, well I thought, I need to look into this.
I'm gunna say this, It was relly hard for me to watch the video on their site, I just wanted to shut it off, but I knew, if I did, that I would just be pretending it wasn't happening. As quoted from the website I was at, talking about the video: Scene #1: The Iams dogs in this scene have just had large chunks of muscle cut from their thighs and have been placed on the laboratory floor to recover from the effects of the anesthetics. Some of the dogs are unconscious, while others are awake and trying to right themselves. The federal Animal Welfare Act requires that this type of surgery be conducted in “aseptic” conditions.
and
Scene #9: Iams dog Mae-Mae exhibits stereotypical behavior (i.e., pacing and circling) associated with life in a cage.

these may not mean much to you know, just just go to their site, read up abit and then watch the video.... you will find yourself sick at what you see. (At least I did)
Links
This is the main site: http://www.iamscruelty.com
This is where I got the break up of the video: http://www.iamscruelty.com/videos.asp
and to watch the video there is the option on the left side bar under Resources, it says Video, click the black button next to it....

Okay thats all I have to say here... If anyone else is as sickened by this as me boycot Iams!

There has been previous discussion about this and the campaign has been going on for some time.
they cut into the dogs thigh muscle as part of a study of the effects of their food on muscle growth.

I really think that they are doign everything all wrong! So i'm gunna boycot them, and I think that the more people who do, the better.... ah well, thats a bit rant-ish.

id never buy that brand of pet food because it is low quality..and along with purina and many other pet food brands, made with 'meat and bone meal' which is basically old meat that expired and never sold at grocery stores...grease from fast food restaurants...peoples pets that have died of cancer or been euthanized..still wearing their collars and id tags...
if they would make their food out of that kind of ****..then its sadly no surprise that they would resort to animal abuse as well..

heres a link about the crap they put in their food:

I wasn't convinced by the Peta campaign.

I feed Starbucks Iams. But my other dogs (and cats) eat Eagle Pack.

What do you feed your pets Scottwilliams?

Kpickell, did you see the undercover video footage @ the Iams lab?
Pretty horrible. It sure convinced me.

They are owned by P & G if that is any indicator for you.

Isn't that video ages old by now? Also, wasn't that lab shut down?

I remember watching a PeTA movie about some lab - from around the time I was born.

They really need to work on that.

That's the argument that labs love to use. First, they make it nearly impossible for someone to get in there (criminal, in fact) - and then when a video comes out they claim the researcher scared the animals or doctored it somehow, and then after a year they say it's too old. Well, if labs want to say that animal rights/welfare people make things up, and the animals are treated so well, they can have video cameras in all the rooms (at no cost to them - many groups would pay for this). Because as it stands now, the labs are impenetrable (public, press, will never get a real tour of a major research lab), and nontransparent, and yet want the public to believe that everything is fine, despite the fact that every single piece of evidence that comes out of those places shows those animals are not o.k.

And really, there's no way to put an animal like a monkey alone in a small cage for life and have it be fine. No way to run painful experiments on a dog sitting alone in a barren cage and make it look o.k. It's just common sense that if you look at the actual experiments, run on unconsenting victims assembly-line style, the animals are going to suffer.

Actually no, the lab was not shut down. Iams just pulled their contract with them. They still contract with other labs as well as using their own facility.

Hypocricy much?

"We make your animals healthy!"
"But let me chop this one up."

If I would have responded sooner, this is what I would have said exactly. Probably not as well as Irizary, but I would have tried! :).

I want to tell the world!

Save your breath and just tell the parts where those companies operate.
