They can't agree. Both resolutions opposing force-feeding ducks and geese for foie gras production were defeated during the AVMA's House of Delegates meeting. Apparently there just wasn't enough "science" behind the idea that it's not humane to shove a metal pipe down a captive bird's throat and cram in enough food to induce a diseased organ state for the sole purposes of human consumption and monetary gain.
